Miami, 1991. When his bloodthirsty impulses can no longer be ignored, young Dexter Morgan must learn to channel his inner darkness as he transitions from high school student to avenging serial killer with the guidance of his father, Harry. Older than James Remar was when Dexter (2006) first aired. Blockbuster employee Deb and her friend are wearing dark blue short-sleeved shirts as part of their uniform. In 1991, employees wore light blue long-sleeved shirts. Short sleeves weren’t used until 4-5 years later. Followed by Dexter: Resurrection (2025). Dexter is easily one of my favorite TV shows of all time and one of the few shows that I can watch over and over again without getting bored. It’s hard for me to put into words how much I loved the original show. The only thing that wasn’t great about it was the ending. Even though the ending was pretty bad, it still doesn’t take away from how good the show is overall. That said, I was really looking forward to Dexter: Original Sin and it did not disappoint. Patrick Gibson, who plays young Dexter Morgan, is amazing, as is the rest of the cast. This is a must-watch for any Dexter fan.
